LOGO CARRERA 2018
Carrera bicycles were born in 1988 as an extension of the great Italian professional road racing team Carrera. The sponsor of the professional squad was the Carrera blue jean company and thus the team clothing looked like denim. Many great champions raced for Carrera including the trifecta; Tour de France, Giro d-Italia, and World Championship won by Stephen Roche in 1987. The other great champions include Claudio Chiappucci, Marco Pantani, Michelle Bartoli, Ivan Basso and Paolo Bettini. Over 500 victories were achieved by the Carrera team.
The Carrera workshop called Podium began in 1988 under the technical direction of Luciano Bracchi. Bracchi became well-known for his designs and product developments. The Carrera-Podium shop was the first workshop to join aluminum to rear stays to carbon. They were the first shop to work with ceramical aluminum and were the first Italian firm to build carbon frames on
size. With this experience a Carrera bicycle is a technical achievement backed with many years of R & D. The synergy with the racing teams allowed Bracchi to test new designs under the rigors of professional racing and he had the advantage of having the team headquarters located in the same building as the bicycle factory.
Today, Carrera has embraced the highly advanced designs of carbon. Unlike most bike companies that simply mimic the designs of others, Carrera has unique and well-thought technology to optimize the advantages of carbon. The tube shapes provide the bicycle with the ultimate combination of lightness, rigidity, ease of handling, comfort and durability. And with today’s efficient manufacturing technique, a high performance Carrera bicycle is more affordable than ever. Essentially, Carrera has a bicycle for every road cyclist from the novice to the Gran Fondo rider to professional level. We hope you find a Carrera model to your liking. The colors and graphics are dynamic and the paint and finish work are the pinnacle of the bike industry.

SL 730

The Carrera SL 730 is the crown jewel of the Carrera racing series and the lightest Carrera frame.  Special graphite epoxy is used in the SL series frames to reduce weight, improve strength and reliability and also to improve rigidity and performance.  The SL 730 is vacuum bladder moulded to ensure an even saturation of the carbon pre-peg material.  This key material obtains a mono structure finish and has considerable advantage for weight and strength.  The special epoxy and moulding process evens out and stretches the carbon fibers inside the tubes making them more compact, uniform and lighter.   The Carrera SL 730 may be the ultimate weight to strength road racing frame on the market.  Our painted SL 730 test frame weighs an amazing 750 grams and we have built 730s complete bikes under 14 lbs!

The tube shapes are extremely well thought out by Carrera engineers.  The front triangle uses a round to square shape that is proven to increase rigidity when needed resulting in precise control even in the most demanding situations.  The chainstays provide extremely high resistance and they are asymetrical in order to transmit very high power output to the pedals.  The Dual Flat System seatstays are designed to give maximum comfort even on rough tarmac and under strong load.

Carrera SL 730 is built with T 800 HM-HS 60T with XN60 special graphite epoxy

PHIBRA EVO

With the unique shape and futuristic design the Carrera Phibra Evo is the pinnacle of Carrera’s research and developement.  The solution is to create a stiff platform and deliver power to the pedal stroke but with sufficient compliance and comfort.  Carrera’s double arc design achieves these goals.  The Phibra Evo is super stiff while standing to climb or sprint but has enough vertical compliance to smooth out the ride especially over rough tarmac.  Double Arc is made up of 2 pieces; a lower arc with super stiff down tube and chainstays that maintain torsion rigidity and the top arc that passes around the vertical seat tube and flattens out to a thin profile resulting in superb comfort.  The material is top quality pre-peg carbon 40, 60 and 70 ton resistance and the seat tube and fork are aerodynamic shape.  The Phibra Evo is a very precise high performance bicycle that is light and responsive.

CARRERA SHIELD WB
Hurry we only have 1 of these rare frames left.  The Carrera Shield is the perfect blend of old and new.  Construction method is traditional brazing with lugs, 1″ head tube and fork column, and external cable guides; the old method.  New is the use of carbon; wishbone seatstays and fork and a sloping geometry.  The blend is a very light frame with the extra rigidity of carbon, the lively feel of steel, the dampening of road shock and vibration.  A slightly longer head tube is perfect for the endurance rider.  Carrera uses Deda EOM 16.5 steel tubing, the top range from Deda.  The tubes are special treated for extra strength even in thinner wall thickness.  Fork is Mizuno full carbon with reinforcement.  Complete bike weight built with Campy Record and Shamal wheels is 17.5 lbs which is lighter than most carbon bikes
