Francesco Moser is one of Italy’s greatest cycling champions. Winner of the Giro d Italia and a World Championship, Francesco also won Paris Roubaix 3 times along with countless other single day and stage races. Signor Moser also set the World Hour Record in 1984 in Mexico City. Late in his career, Moser established a small frame building shop in his home town of Trento, Italy where local artisans created some outstanding racing frames that bear his name. Of course, in the late 70’s, steel was the material of choice, but Moser embarked on production of fillet brazed steel frames called Leader AX and a legend was born.

Owners of the Leader AX will attest to its ride quality and the geometry of a true classic steel racing frame. After his racing career ended, Francesco concentrated on designing the best possible racing bikes and the material evolution went to lightweight steel, then aluminum and now, of course, carbon. The mountain passes of the Dolomites were his home roads and became the testing grounds for the newest and greatest designs for racing bikes.

Today Moser still builds some of the most technically advanced and highest quality Italian road bikes. For instance, the new Moser Stealth encompasses:
• aerodynamic tube shapes
• rigid sections of carbon
• distinctive style with bold lettering on a matte carbon frame
• UD finish
• 900 gram weight
• press fit bottom bracket, 1 1/8″ x 1 1/2″ headtube, and is routed for both electronic and mechanical shifting systems.

Our Stealth customers report a fantastic combination of stiffness and lightness and suprisingly good compliance.

MOSER M81

Francesco Moser’s claim to fame (besides being one of the all time best bike racer) was leading a small workshop in Italy that specialized in fillet brazed steel racing frames.  His personal frame builder Antonio Brandasi designed and built the venerable Leader AX model.  As Dedacciai provided lighter and stronger tube sets Moser improved from the original Leader frame to the TK1, TK2 and finally the last version the M81.  For the M81 model Moser added the Dedacciai carbon rear seat stays and chain stays.  This gives the frame better vibration dampening, lightens and stiffens the rear of the frame.  The frame is carefully fillet brazed and polished to a smooth finish using Dedacciai  EOM 16.5 steel tubing.  This is the lightest steel tube set produced by Deda.  We have only 1 of these beautiful frames left.  It is 56cm with 56cm top tube and a 5 degree slope.  The frame set includes a Deda carbon fork and integrated headset.  Regular price was $2495 now on SALE for $1495
